Similar Treatments and Alternatives for Skin Rejuvenation

Skin Rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment that will modify the appearance of aging skin and will iron out wrinkles, tightening the skin and giving a softer texture to the skin. If you are looking for a solution to rejuvenate your skin, you may opt for other alternative treatments such as Fraxel, Pearl, chemical peels or injectables such as Botox.

Fraxel Treatments

The Fraxel group of treatments includes Fraxel Restore, Repair and Refine, and use lasers to tighten and soften the skin. These treatments are similar to the Skin Rejuvenation technique.

The aggressiveness of the Fraxel treatment may vary according to the type of treatment chosen and the needs of your skin, however, all Fraxel treatments are non invasive.

The microscopic lasers will target one area of skin at a time and will stimulate the tightening of the skin. Fraxel may be applied on the face and neck, but may also be applied on hands or other more sensitive areas that require rejuvenation.

Pearl

Pearl is a treatment that is similar to Fraxel; Pearl employs laser beams and act on small portions of the skin at a time. Pearl is different from the Skin Rejuvenation treatment or Fraxel in the effects it has on the skin: Pearl will reduce damaged skin and has a skin firming action, while Fraxel and Skin Rejuvenation will also target wrinkled skin.

Chemical Peel Treatments

There are several chemical peel treatments available, and they will have a skin firming action, while rejuvenating the skin. The chemical peels contain different chemical ingredients that will penetrate the skin and will stimulate the layers under the top layer of the skin to rejuvenate. In addition, the chemical peels will also remove the damaged and dead skin cells.

Chemical peels require less recovery time than the Fraxel and Skin Rejuvenation treatments. Chemical peels may be performed with no anesthesia at all, while Fraxel and Skin Rejuvenation require local anesthesia.

Injectables

Even if the injectable treatments are not so similar to Skin Rejuvenation, the effects of these treatments will be similar--tightening the skin and giving a more youthful appearance to the face.

There are several options of injectable procedures, including Botox or Purtox, and these contain a diluted solution of botulinum toxin that is injected under the skin to relax the muscles and remove the dynamic wrinkles.

There are also other injectables that contain natural ingredients, and these will elevate the skin and iron out the wrinkles. Injectables are more invasive than Skin Rejuvenation or Fraxel invasive, as they require needles.

The Fraxel treatments, the injectables and chemical peels are pain free and will give visible results with minimal down time. Skin Rejuvenation and Fraxel are treatments that will give more durable results. All these treatments are performed as an outpatient procedure, so all that is left for you to do is to choose a procedure that is more suitable for your needs.
