History of Refirme

Refirme is a relatively new treatment procedure that is designed to eliminate wrinkles and other signs of aging. While it is primarily used on the face, it can also be used to treat other parts of the body as well, although there are some specialists who will not focus on other parts of the body aside from the face.

Development

Refirme was developed only a few years ago as a result of advancements in dermal heating technology. The Refirme procedure itself makes use of a pair of heated electrodes which are placed on the affected area of the skin. These electrodes are then charged with electricity, thereby smoothing out the top several layers of the skin. The procedure is safe and effective and has been approved by the FDA.

Other Facts

Refirme continues to develop as advancements in technology take place, allowing for more effective and long term procedures. Because the procedure itself is not long lasting at this point, one of the downsides to the Refirme treatment for wrinkles is that it must be repeated many different times. The treatment can be used approximately once every few months in order to maintain smooth skin and eliminate wrinkles or to prevent them from returning.
