Laser Hair Removal for Women

Women are frequent laser hair removal clients. You may be wondering if the process is easier or more difficult for you as a woman than it is for a man--and if there's a difference at all.

The Location and Size of Your Treated Areas

Rather than there being true gender differences when it comes to laser hair removal treatment, any difference may lie in the location and size of your treated areas. As a woman, you may have larger areas such as your legs and arms treated, or you may have smaller areas treated, such as your bikini area, your armpits, you chin or upper lip. For larger areas, you will need more sessions and your sessions will last longer--up to an hour each. For the smaller areas, you will need fewer sessions and may have sessions that last as little as five minutes.

Skin Tone and Hair Color

What really determines your candidacy for the treatment is your skin tone and hair color. Treatment works best on people with fair skin and dark hair.

More women than men get laser hair removal treatments, but there is actually no difference between the treatment of men and women, besides perhaps the selected area(s) and the size of those areas.
