Recovery after Blue Peel

The Blue Peel procedure is a rejuvenating treatment that will remove dead skin cells, leaving you with a younger and healthier looking skin. If you are considering this type of treatment, you should also get informed on the recovery time required and what happens after the treatment.

The First Week

During the first days after the Blue Peel treatment, your skin will have a bluish hue, which is caused by the ingredients of the blue peel (the ionic base). This bluish color should vanish in less than 5 days.

Your face will also start flaking and peeling between days 4 to 9 after the administration of the treatment. Your skin may also look more irritated and red, but this should go away after 1 week. In some cases, discoloration of skin may be present.

You may perform your normal activities, however, if you have major events, you should be aware that you cannot wear makeup and that your skin will not look at its best.

The Second Week

You will be advised not to wear any makeup for the first 2 weeks after the Blue Peel procedure. You should also avoid the sun or artificial tanning for the first 2 weeks and make sure you wear sun screen with a high protection factor to prevent any burns or damage to your skin.

Maximizing the Effects of the Treatment

If you want to maximize the effect of the Blue Peel, you can also repeat the treatment in 6 months after the first treatment and maintain your skin with additional peels administrated once or twice per month.
