Recovery after Vitalize Peel

The Vitalize Peel is a superficial peel that helps fight the effects of sun damage and age. This potent yet gentle peel can take years off mature or damaged skin. It is recommended for all skin types and includes a special formation of peeling agents.

Recovery after the Vitalize Peel is minimal, but may differ from person to person. Most patients find they are able to resume their daily routines immediately after the procedure.

What to Expect after Vitalize Peel

Immediately following the procedure, patients may experience slight redness and discoloration, which can be safely covered with makeup. A mild tingling sensation may occur and will usually only last a few hours. After 48 hours, a small amount of flaking will occur, which can be curbed with moisturizers. This flaking process is the result of damaged skin being sloughed away and exfoliated in order to reveal smoother and younger looking skin underneath. Extreme hot or cold weather conditions will dry the skin out much faster, so it's important to repeatedly moisturize, especially during the day, to prevent peeling and irritation.

Peeling and flaking may last several days or may not occur at all. Once the flaking resolves, patients will be able to see the results of the Vitalize Peel in full.
