LATISSE ® is a bimatroprost ophthalmic solution (0.03%) treatment used for hypotrichosis, or not having adequate eyelashes. It is the first and only FDA approved treatment that can help your lashes grow fuller, longer and darker. This treatment works by increasing the length and number of hair during the growth phase of the eyelashes. The solution should be applied daily and can produce visible results in as fast as 8 weeks. LATISSE ® is available only through a doctor's prescription and should be applied only on the base of the upper eyelashes with a sterile applicator. The product is not to be applied to the lower eyelids.
LATISSE ® is a treatment that can help your eyelashes grow longer, thicker and fuller, and is not meant to be combined with other treatment for the same purpose. No other treatment or product can be used with LATISSE ® to further enhance or speed up your eyelashes' growth or make the hair longer or thicker. If you need to improve your eyelashes, you can do so with cosmetics and other eye enhancement products.
Mascara
LATISSE ® is an eyelash treatment medication that is meant to thicken your eyelashes. It is not intended to replace the application of mascara on the lashes. You can still apply mascara in addition to LATISSE ® for a more prominent effect on your lashes. Other eye makeup should also be safe to use while on LATISSE ® .
Contact Lens
If you are wearing contact lens, remove the lens before applying LATISSE ® to your upper eyelash base. You can use your contact lens again 15 minutes after LATISSE ® application. Since LATISSE ® is an ophthalmic drug product, it is not expected to cause any harm when it accidentally gets into the eye. You do not need to rinse your eye in case this happens.
Other Ophthalmic Medication
If you are taking other ophthalmic medication, do not use LATISSE ® . LATISSE ® should not be combined with other ophthalmic solutions and medications to avoid the risk of side effects. Consult with your health care provider, should you need to take other ophthalmic medications, to discuss your continued use of LATISSE ® .

LATISSE ® is the only treatment approved by FDA to enhance the eyelashes by increasing the quantity of hair growth and improving the length and fullness of the lashes. Latisse contains bimatroprost, the active ingredient responsible for the improvement of your lashes' length and volume. This ingredient is often found in glaucoma medication.
LATISSE ® solution treatment is proven safe and can be also used by people with sensitive eyes. Using the product on a daily basis can help achieve thicker eyelashes in just 8 weeks, with full results in 12 to 16 weeks of continued use. You can see the effectiveness of the product by photographing your eyelashes every couple of weeks to compare the results.
There are some side effects associated with LATISSE ® . Approximately 4% of patients reported eye itching and redness. Patients with an active eye infection, broken skin or skin irritation on the eyelid should not use LATISSE ® . It is best to consult a doctor before using the product to know if it is right for you.
