Evolence and Medium Skin Tones

Evolence is an FDA approved collagen filler derived from pig (porcine) collagen. It is injected in the dermal layer of areas where there is a significant collagen loss. It is intended to correct moderate to deep facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, by reducing their appearance. A skin test is not necessary for this treatment, since porcine collagen is genetically the same as human collagen.

Evolence and Medium Skin Tones

There have been no known or reported negative effects or issues associated with Evolence treatment for people with medium skin tones. In a clinical evaluation, 149 subjects were injected with Evolence. 22 of these subjects were of light brown complexion and 6 were of medium brown complexion. The results were positive in such a way that none of the people with medium skin tones had hyper pigmentation or keloid formation. This only shows that with this treatment, skin tone is irrelevant and does not pose a problem. The subjects, regardless of skin tones, achieved the same benefits and experienced the common side effects. Some of the reported side effects after injection are redness, swelling, tenderness, pain and on rare occasions, solid, raised skin lesions less than 1 cm in diameter.
