Non-Invasive Alternatives to Dysport

Dysport is an FDA-approved cosmetic dermal filler for treatment of facial wrinkles and fine lines. However, patients sometimes opt for non-invasive alternatives to this technique.

Dysport is a cosmetic product of Ipsen Limited which is manufactured in Great Britain. It was in use outside the U.S. for many years but was finally launched here in mid-2009. Drsport uses a similar neurological toxin which is present in Botox to treat facial wrinkles and frown lines. It can be injected anywhere on the face to treat any kind of furrows or loose folds. There are some side effects related with this procedure, so you might want to look for alternative non-invasive procedures. Here are some of the alternatives that you can consider:

Elevess

Elevess is a dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid, which is injected into the face to get rid of facial wrinkles and lines. It is also an FDA-approved treatment with a lesser recovery period involved. Its effects last for around 6 months, after which another session may be required. Within the first few weeks, you will notice the effects of Elevess, with smoother frown and smile lines. The folds and wrinkles take a little longer to heal. Common side effects like swelling, bruising and redness may appear after the treatment.

ActiveFX

ActiveFX is a non-invasive laser treatment known to correct problems like facial lines and acne scars. Its unique feature is its ability to give equivalent results to Dysport in a single session. It can cover a number of areas (with the exception of the face), including the neck and hands. It works by stimulating the collagen production in the affected area. Several bridges are formed on the skin after the treatment, which accelerates the post treatment healing process. The pain associated is less and the recovery period is also lesser in comparison with Dysport. However, it may require application of a numbing cream to safely conduct the procedure.

SmartXide Dot Therapy

SmartXide Dot therapy uses CO2 laser resurfacing, but in a non-invasive manner. Its results are quite similar to the traditional laser acne treatment, but the side effects and recovery period associated are a fraction of that of laser treatment. It is a common technique used for healing and rejuvenation of skin. A number of dots are helpful in pinpointing the affected area, which ensures that the surrounding tissue does not receive any laser damage.

Natural Products

If you wish to refrain from all possible cosmetic procedures, whether non-invasive or invasive, you can simply opt for herbal and natural treatments for the skin. Several natural products like Aloe Vera, green tea, olive oil and tea tree oil are known to offer similar results for the skin. Though the results might take longer to appear, they are free from any side effects. Their fully non-invasive nature has attracted many patients over time.

First decide what kind of results you are looking for, and after discussing the extent of your problem with your physician, you may choose from available alternatives.
