Treatments that Can be Combined with Captique

Captique is a dermal filler that is injected into the skin to decrease lines and wrinkles. Using a fine needle, your doctor can inject Captique around the eyes, mouth, jaw, nose and forehead.  It is a non-invasive procedure that usually takes up to one hour in your doctor’s office. Your doctor may choose to apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area prior to injection, to relieve discomfort during the procedure. You can return to work and most daily activities an hour or two after the procedure. Captique’s natural composition makes it easy to combine it with other treatments.

Composition

Captique is an injectable form of hyaluronic acid. This is found in the tissue of all living organisms. It stimulates collagen production and adds moisture to tissue. Because it occurs naturally in the body, Captique is easily absorbed.

Mild Chemical Peels

Your doctor may recommend a mild to moderate chemical peel, in addition to your Captique treatments. Chemical peels penetrate the skin’s surface layers to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, small shallow scars and sun damage. Peels improve the overall appearance and texture of surface skin. Your doctor will recommend a type and strength of peel based on the health, tone and complexion of your skin. Your doctor may recommend a peel before or after your Captique treatment. Captique will smooth the appearance of deeper lines and wrinkles, and stimulate collagen production in the treatment area.

Epidermal Leveling

Epidermal Leveling removes top surface layers of skin and fine facial hair. A trained professional will pass a hand-held device containing a small blade over your skin in a gentle sweeping motion. This procedure stimulates the growth of collagen and lessens the visibility of small scars and blemishes on the surface. In combination with Captique, deeper lines and wrinkles will look less visible and smoother. The result is a brighter, fresher and smoother complexion.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion improves the overall appearance of your skin. It works by polishing the surface layer of the skin to remove dead and damaged skin cells. There are several different microdermabrasion methods. Diamond microdermabrasion involves the use of a special diamond tipped wand that is used to exfoliate the skin. In a crystal microdermabrasion, the skin receives a mini sandblasting with fine crystals.

Microdermabrasion will not remove large scars. It is beneficial if you would like to diminish the appearance of fine lines, small scars and uneven pigmentation. However, microdermabrasion is a program of multi-treatments. Although, you will notice a difference in the texture of your skin after the first treatment, the difference will be more pronounced after several treatments. In combination with Captique, lines and wrinkles are smoothed. Captique will work from below the surface to encourage new collagen production, while the microdermabrasion treatments will give you a brighter, clearer looking complexion. Ask your doctor if this is appropriate for your skin.

Other Treatments

Your doctor may recommend alternative non-invasive treatments such as light and laser therapy. If your skin has been severely damaged, your doctor may recommend more invasive procedures, such as surgery or dermabrasion.
