Treatments that Can be Combined with Restylane

Restylane is a non invasive cosmetic procedure that adds volume to the face. With aging, the face will lose its original shape and tri dimensionality and may require a few helping treatments. Restylane can be combined with a few treatments that can give additional benefits or boost the results of the Restylane treatment.

Facelift

The face of an aging patient will go through several changes. The skin will become thinner, the volume of the cheeks will be lost and there will be some wrinkles and excess skin. A facelift is a surgical procedure that will stretch the wrinkles and give firmness to the face. If the patient only requires a slight facelift or prefers a non surgical procedure, a liquid facelift can replace the traditional facelift. The facelift should be performed prior to the Restylane treatment.

Genesis Skin Rejuvenation

Genesis Skin Rejuvenation is a procedure which can improve the texture of the skin. The Restylane treatment will restore volume, while the Genesis Skin Rejuvenation will give a softer skin with reduced pores and an even tone. Genesis Skin Rejuvenation may also be used to reduce acne scars, skin irregularities or liver spots, which can occur with aging.

Fraxel

Just like Genesis Skin Rejuvenation, Fraxel can be used to repair the skin and obtain an improved tone and texture. Any of the Fraxel treatments available can be combined with Restylane. There are 3 main types of Fraxel treatments that vary in intensity. These may be applied before or after the Restylane procedure, not having any influence on the treatment.

Facial Peels

Facial peels can be used instead of getting a more complex procedure, such as Fraxel or Genesis Skin Rejuvenation. The facial peels will remove the superficial dead skin cells, leaving the face soft and diminishing the skin imperfections. However, the effect of a facial peel is insignificant when compared to the durability of the effects of Fraxel or Genesis. Chemical peels can be applied before or after a Restylane treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Restylane restores volume, but there are also other dermal fillers which can boost the effects of Restylane. Restylane is a dermal filler that employs hyaluronic acid, which naturally exists in the humans skin and helps the binding of water molecules. Collagen dermal fillers may also be recommended in conjunction with the Restylane treatment, as these have more durable effects. Artefill or Evolence are such dermal fillers that use natural collagen.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® is a treatment that is injected under the skin and numbs the muscles of the face. These muscles cause wrinkling when the patient smiles or frowns. If these muscles are numb, there will be no wrinkling. BOTOX® can be used in conjunction with Restylane.

Minimally Invasive Liposuction

The face is a sensitive area, but there may be fat deposits that are inconveniently located and should be removed. Minimally invasive liposuction treatments are available. These will extract the unwanted fat, while the Restylane will restore volume where needed.
