What to Expect During Captique

Captique is a plant-based hyaluronic acid dermal filler that treats wrinkles on the face. In addition to treating facial wrinkles, captique is also used to add volume to the lips and eyebrows. Here are some things to expect if you pursue the treatment.

Pre-Treatment

Your doctor may prohibit you from smoking, drinking alcohol or using certain medications a few weeks prior to the treatment. Before the doctor administers the injection, he may apply a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort.

The Procedure

During the session, your doctor will inject the filler under the surface of the skin. Captique will rebuild skin from the inside, adding volume and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Recovery and Results

Captique can be administered in your physician's office and you can resume normal activities directly after the procedure. Some patients experience puffiness, redness and swelling immediately after the treatment. However, these side effects usually subside after a few days. You may be instructed by your doctor to avoid exposure to the sun and UV lamps directly after the treatment. You should also avoid heat, alcohol and strenuous activity for the first 24 hours after the treatment to prevent redness and irritation to the treated area. You may notice results immediately after the treatment. However, some pateints need a second treatment before noticing visible results. 

Captique is not a permanent solutions to wrinkles and fine lines. In order to maintain desired results, you may have to undergo treatment every few months.
