History of Fractional Resurfacing

Fractional resurfacing is one of the latest and most successful treatment options for removing wrinkles, creases and other signs of aging. It can also be used to help remove unwanted hair growth, scars and damaged tissue on the face and other areas.

Development of Fractional Resurfacing

Fractional resurfacing developed out of more traditional and broader based laser resurfacing treatment programs. These procedures make use of lasers to heat up certain portions of the skin, which prompts them to react and to create new tissue. Previously, these procedures addressed large areas of skin; in fractional resurfacing, however, specific cells are targeted on a nearly microscopic level, providing for better control.

Benefits of Fractional Resurfacing

Fractional resurfacing allows the skin to heal much faster than standard resurfacing procedures do. Additionally, it allows for much better and more precise targeting of specific parts of the skin that require touching up. This procedure has only been developed within the past few months as of the time of writing, and it is not yet clear how the long term effects of the treatment will hold up.
