Triniti and Dry Skin

If you have dry skin and are considering Triniti, the laser treatment for the face and neck, you are likely wondering whether your chronically dry skin will affect or be harshly affected by the treatment. Because the procedure is so non-invasive, however, any problems should be minimal.

The Procedure

Triniti involves no scalpels or injections. During your three sessions of about 40 to 60 minutes each, your cosmetic specialist will run three different tools over your skin. These tools use radio frequency and/or infrared light to target new cell and collagen production in your skin to help eliminate or reduce wrinkles, jowls, undereye bagginess and age spots and other discoloration. As a person with dry skin, you may be especially concerned about discoloration associated with rosacea, which this procedure also treats.

Dry Skin

Your dry skin should not impede the effectiveness of the procedure, although if any rosacea you have is widespread, you may need as many as five sessions before you see long-term results. After each session, a normal reaction of the new cell and collagen production is for the skin to become darker and flake off for up to a week. With dry skin, you are at greater risk for this skin flaking. However, it should subside after a week.

If you have dry skin, Triniti is a smart choice because of its relative minimal invasiveness compared to similar treatments. While you may experience more discomfort after each session than those with normal skin, there shouldn't be any long-term negative results.
