Development of Cool Lipo

Laser lipolysis, the technique behind Cool Lipo, was invented in Italy. Prior to the introduction of the procedure in the U.S., it has been routinely performed in countries such as Italy, South America and in other parts of Europe. Cool Lipo laser system is manufactured by CoolTouch, a pioneer manufacturer of medical lasers.

Safety

It was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in January 2008 for laser lipolysis or fat dissolution. Cool Lipo is an out-patient procedure that has to be performed by a board-certified physician. The procedure is currently considered the safest form of body sculpturing. Because of this, it has gained popularity and is currently being offered in medical spas and laser centers all across the United States.

Like every surgical procedures, it has side effects which vary depending on several factors. These risks are often discussed between the patient and the practicing physician.
