Fat Cells Get Fatter Over Time

The makers of fat-blasting products like laser liposuction might want to take a close look at a new study which reveals that the number of fat cells that exist in the body are established during the teen years and never change. We obviously do get fatter after our teen years but it turns out that this is caused by the individual fat cells growing in size rather than the number of fat cells changing. There is no way to know for sure if this information could be of use to the manufacturers of products such as Smart Lipo. However, it could be an interesting area for these types of researchers to explore. These products rely on lasering away the fat on the body; it could make a difference to know that you're trying to reduce the size of fat cells rather than to get rid of a certain number of cells. Right now all of the solutions that we have for dealing with fat fail to reduce the number of fat cells in the body. The study showed that successful bariatric weight loss surgeries reduced the size of fat cells but not their number. This means that there is potential room for the creation of products that actually diminish the number of fat cells in the body. Learn more here.
