ASAPS Reminds You To Take Time to Review Your Doctor

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery had their Time Out Day yesterday. This is a day to raise awareness of the importance of taking the time to carefully review any doctor that is going to be providing you with cosmetic treatments. This includes doctors that are providing non-invasive services such as Botox and laser hair removal, not just doctors who are doing invasive surgeries such as liposuction.

Patients are reminded that they should always check the accreditation and professional reputation of any cosmetic doctor before getting work done. They should also make sure that the procedure is going to be done in an appropriate medical setting. And they should discuss procedures thoroughly before getting them done in order to make sure they understand the risks and results that should be expected.

Learn more about this patient safety issue here.

Question of the Day: What is the single most important thing that a patient can ask a doctor prior to a non-invasive cosmetic procedure?
