A New Nose Job
|

The recession has affected the economy many arenas, including plastic surgeons' offices. However, one plastic surgeon is doing better than ever due to a Non Surgical Nose Job procedure he originally created as an alternative to traditional rhinoplasty. Artefill, the permanent filler approved by the FDA, is used as an injection into the nose to help form desired structure.
"With Artefill, the cosmetic result of the Non-Surgical Nose Job will persist just as long as the result of surgical Rhinoplasty. We are presently seeing many more patients who were considering surgery. Now that we can offer a permanent non-surgical solution, patients are eager to avoid the pain, downtime, risk and cost, associated with surgery" says Dr. Alexander Rivkin, the creator of the Non-Surgical Nose Job.
Minimally invasive procedures have increased in popularity, as women and men look for quicker and less expensive ways to beautify themselves in this economy. Artefill effectively camouflages bumps, helps define nose bridges, and can also help redefine the tip of the nose. Dr. Rivkin is excited offer his patients a non-invasive option that may prove to redefine cosmetic enhancement.

ArteFill Smiles with 5 Years of Success
|
ArteFill is an injectable wrinkle filler which has been approved for use by the FDA, making it a common skin rejuvenation choice for people who are concerned about both beauty and health. The company that makes this product was happy to announce recently that they've completed a five-year testing program which demonstrates that this product gets good results.
The study looked at two different things. First, it looked at the safety of the product over time. And second, it looked at the efficacy of the product to determine the level of customer happiness over the duration of ArteFill's use. Both the safety and the efficacy of the product were determined to be strong.
ArteFill is primarily used to reduce smile lines. Fine lines and wrinkles such as these can be treated in a number of different ways. Discussing ArteFill along with the other alternatives should be something that's done with your doctor prior to treatment. However, the results of this study suggest that this could be a treatment worth smiling about!
Question of the Day: What treatments have you used for getting rid of smile lines?

Divided on the Issue of Permanent Skin Fillers
|
Permanent skin fillers. Does that phrase strike fear in your heart? Or are you one of the people who believes that a single "super Botox injection" that lasts a lifetime would be a draem come true? People who enjoy the benefits of dermal fillers like Botox or Restylane are very divided on the issue of permanent skin fillers. Nevertheless, they're increasingly an available option for getting rid of your wrinkles for good.
A recent news report covers the basics about these new permanent skin fillers. They point out that there is an appeal to the permanency. After all, it would be nice to go to the doctor once and never have to make time in your schedule again. But they also point out that permanency is a little bit of a frightening thing. Some people get dermal fillers and find that they don't want them forever. You can't easily go back and change your mind with the permanent kind like you could with basic injections.
One of the things that you need to remember is that your body is going to continue to change. You may enjoy the benefits of permanent fillers but you're not likely to be completely done with rejuvenation treatments just because you ge them done. And if you're changing things around in the future, you may wish that you didn't do something quite so permanent in the past. Then again, if you're the kind of person who knows what you want and sticks with it, permanency may work in your favor.
What do you think: are permanent fillers or temporary fillers the better choice for you?

Pioneer Dermatologist Expresses Concerns
|
There's a big debate going on in the cosmetic dermatology industry as one of the industry's pioneers voices his concerns about current products. Dr. Arnold W. Klein is an elderly dermatologist who worked with temporary anti-wrinkle injections when they were new in the market. His concern is that new, longer-lasting injections are not as safe as the products that he was accustomed to using. He's not just mildly concerned either; he's spearheading a mission to get others in the industry to oppose the newer injections as well.
One of the products that Klein is opposed to is ArteFill, an implanted filler that Klein warns could leave unsightly lumps under the skin with scarring resulting when these lumps are surgically removed. Diane Goosetree whose company produces ArteFill says that Klein's concerns are unwarranted, that these lumps don't occur when proper surgical procedures are followed and that he's been misinformed based on old data that is no longer correct.
Does Klein have a valid case for his cause or is it a case of an older physician being stubborn when it comes to adopting new methods of achieving results?
