Deep FX fractional resurfacing is a laser skin treatment for
scars, deep wrinkles, and signs of aging. The laser penetrates deep into the dermis
layer of your skin to trigger new collagen growth and improve the appearance
and contour of your skin.
How Deep FX fractional resurfacing is performed
Deep FX is an in-office treatment that takes about 90
minutes. Your dermatologist will mark out areas on your face for treatment and numb
your skin with a topical anesthetic. The handheld laser is then passed over
your skin and applied in pulses. You may feel a sensation similar to a sunburn.
Fractional resurfacing means the laser leaves tiny spots of
untreated skin between the laser pulses to help your skin heal faster. This
shortens your discomfort and down time.
Recovery and results
You’ll have noticeable redness and marks from
the laser for about three to seven days, depending on how aggressive your
session was. Pain and discomfort can vary, but is usually mild to moderate. You’ll
notice results in the next six months as your skin heals, produces new
collagen, and tightens. Several sessions spaced apart may be necessary to
achieve your desired results.
