How painfull is the Deep FX process? Is an anesthesia used? A numbing cream How long does a full face and neck procedure take? and how long does it last?

I had deep FX laser on my peri-oral area & forehead, 5 weeks ago. My forehead has healed, but the area around my peri-oral area is still discolored (somewhere between gray & pink). Will this go away or is it permanent? I expected a 2-3 wk recovery.
