Botox
Botox® Cosmetic is a purified protein that is injected at very low doses into the face to relax deep, persistent lines produced with facial expressions. Botox® works by reducing the contractions of the muscles that cause wrinkling. The effects of treatment can last three months or longer in some cases. Results have been reported to last longer with repeated treatment.
Dr. Pickens injects Botox ® to treat moderate to severe glabellar, or frown lines, crow’s feet, which are lines around the eyes, forehead, nose and neck.

Dermal Fillers
Dr. Pickens uses cosmetic fillers to rejuvenate facial skin by smoothing out everything from small wrinkles caused by smiling, wrinkles between the eyebrows, as well as correcting deep furrows and sagging cheekbones. Fillers are also used to correct hollowness around the eyes, and add fullness to thin lips. If your face is disproportionate, that can be improved, too.
Fillers can be used to restore fullness to the face that has lost fullness with age, creating more prominent cheekbones or a more angled jawline. Fillers are also used to enhance the appearance of upper and lower lips. In addition, fillers reduce scars from acne, chicken pox and other conditions
Fillers are also used to enhance the appearance of upper and lower lips. Dr. Pickens has also used fillers to treat acne, chicken pox, and other deep scars.
Chemical Peels
Chemical skin peeling involves an application of a chemical solution to sun-damaged, unevenly pigmented, and finely wrinkled facial areas. The procedure is meant to diminish imperfections by peeling away the skin’s top layers.
Dr. Pickens selects the best chemical or chemical mix for the individual patient. A solution is applied—using a sponge, cotton pad, cotton swab or brush—to the areas to be treated (or the entire face, avoiding the eyes, brows and lips).
The top layer of skin is removed, and regenerates, often improving the skin's appearance. No anesthesia or sedation is needed, and the patient will feel only a mild tingling or stinging sensation when the solution is applied. Most peels are performed in less than one hour, depending on size of the area being treated. Sometimes a single treatment will give skin a healthier, radiant look. The patient can immediately resume normal activities.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is the term for the application of tiny rough grains to buff away the surface layer of skin. It is commonly performed to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by surgery or accidents, or to smooth out fine facial wrinkles, such as those around the mouth. It is also sometimes used to minimize deep acne scars. Microdermabrasion helps to "refinish" the skin's top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping. The treatment softens the sharp edges of surface irregularities, giving the skin a smoother appearance.
Liquid Face Lift
Liquid Face Lift involves the use of both dermal fillers and usually in combination with Botox. Each person has unique facial features and individual skin types, as well as varying degrees of skin damage, collagen depletion and skin laxity. Goals and desires also vary from patient to patient. Some physicians refined techniques to focus on lifting and contouring, with an additional benefit of wrinkle reduction. This has spawned a somewhat innovative new approach in treating sagging facial features, which has begun to be called a Liquid Face Lift.
