Dr. Smith is a Board Certified Dermatologist (a true skin specialist). He brings years of vast experience in all aspects of cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatology to the Tri-Cities.
Due to Dr. Smith’s expertise, he is a national trainer for Cutera Lasers and Bioform Radiesse dermal fillers. Additionally he is frequently consulted by other medispas and laser companies for his expert opinon. He has authored over 20 dermatology journal articles and chapters. Additionally he has given numerous academic dermatology lectures locally and nationally. Dr. Smith is also on the local and national pharmaceutical speakers bureaus for Humira & Valtrex.
Locally Dr. Smith is a frequent guest on Good Morning Northwest educating the audience, commonly with live demonstrations, on a vast array of cosmetic and dermatological issues ranging from laser assisted liposuction with the Smartlipo MPX to dermal fillers to Botox Cosmetic to lasers to acne to sun blocks. Additionally, he frequently writes cosmetic and dermatological articles for the Entertainer newspaper.
Additionally and is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Dr. Smith graduated from Brigham Young University, University of Utah, and with honors from Ponce School of Medicine. He completed his Transitional Internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss and his Dermatology Residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston & Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center.
During his almost nine years of service in the United States Army, Dr. Smith served as Chief of Dermatology, Teaching Staff for Dermatology Residents & other residents, and as the Theater Dermatologist in Baghdad, Iraq. He has vast experience in Teledermatology.
Dr. Smith is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Aesthetic Surgery, the American Medical Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha.
