Fraxel Re:store is a skin resurfacing laser that treats age
spots, discoloration, sun damage, scarring, wrinkles, and texture issues.
Fraxel Re:store penetrates into your skin to target areas of damage and aging
and the subsequent healing process rejuvenates your skin. Fraxel Re:store is a
fractionated erbium laser, meaning it treats a fraction of your skin by leaving
tiny spots of untreated skin in between. This makes the treatment minimally
invasive and speeds up your recovery time.
How Fraxel Re:store is performed
Fraxel Re:store is an in-office treatment that takes about
an hour. The Fraxel Re:store procedure begins with the application of a topical
anesthetic to numb the treatment area. Once the area is numb, the laser hand
piece will be passed over your skin. The laser penetrates into the middle
dermis layer of your skin, and you’ll feel a sensation of heat or mild
discomfort.
Recovery and results
Recovery can take about seven to ten days, but most
people can resume their normal routines about two days after Fraxel Re:Store.
You’ll have some redness and swelling for about 48 hours, followed by darkening
of your skin called “bronzing,” and then your skin will peel and heal. For best
results you may need about three to five treatments at two- to four-week
intervals. Read More
