A liquid facelift is not a traditional surgical facelift. A
liquid facelift uses a variety of dermal fillers and injectables to plump your
skin and make it look fuller and more youthful—and it’s all done without surgery.
How a liquid facelift is performed
A liquid facelift is a non-invasive, in-office procedure that
takes less than an hour. Your dermatologist will examine your skin to determine
which dermal fillers and injectables to use. Different products have different
longevities and purposes, such as minimizing wrinkles or adding volume. Your
skin will then be numbed with a topical or local anesthetic and you’ll receive
targeted injections to reduce the appearance of your wrinkles and plump and
firm your skin.
Recovery and results
You can expect a mild to moderate recovery depending
on how many injections you receive. Most people can return to work within a day
or two. You may have some discomfort, swelling, and redness at the injection
sites. The results will be immediate and will improve over time as the fillers
take effect and your swelling goes down, but you’ll need a touch-up treatment
every 6 months to a year to maintain your results.
