Hollywood and the Botox Cosmetic Injection

When a person decides that he or she wants to act in movies, the first place that they think of is Hollywood, which is where all of the world's most popular movie production companies are located. It is actually ironic, because New Jersey was, at the start of movie production, the center of the movie industry. The movie industry was relocated to the West Coast because of the better weather.

The Botox cosmetic injection was born out of the pressure for actors and actresses to look as young as possible for as long as possible. Hollywood has long been thought of as an artificial world, because it is through watching movies that the general public gets to escape the stresses of everyday life. It is up to the actors and actresses of Hollywood, then, to maintain the façade that they so often portray in the movies.

Before the Botox cosmetic injection was invented, aging Hollywood stars did several things to provide themselves with a more youthful appearance. First of all, they colored their hair. As for wrinkles, they attempted to hide them with heavy stage makeup. While eyeliner drew attention to their eyes, it was also meant to detract from bags under those eyes.

It might seem that these techniques would not work, but they actually did in the days when clever lighting and black and white cinematography were employed. However, nowadays everything is in high definition color. Which even the cleverest of makeup jobs could not completely hide in terms of wrinkles. Some actors actually choose to age gracefully, taking on roles of older people.

Then again, there are some people who really do not like the idea of getting old. It might be because of vanity, but then again it might be because the studio that they are contractually bound to wants them to get rid of their wrinkles. This is where the Botox cosmetic injection comes in.

Invented a couple of decades ago, a Botox cosmetic injection consists of a derma filler and facial muscle relaxer that immediately fills in wrinkles. The Hollywood crowd immediately gravitated toward this procedure because it was quick. While procedures like facelifts were done, they required time to recuperate, whereas getting this kind of injection meant only spending about fifteen minutes in a dermatologist's office. In order to have a better understanding of how these injections work, it is important to understand how wrinkles occur. Wrinkles are a natural sign of aging, but they can also be caused when the natural moisture in the skin is dried up by smoking and sun damage.

So, basically what happens is that the patient will schedule an appointment with a dermatologist who has a lot of experience administering these kinds of injections. During the consultation, the patient will discuss what wrinkles he or she wants removed, and the dermatologist will take photos and make marks where the injections will be administered. Sometimes, this consultation is done in conjunction with the actual procedure. A slight pinch will be felt, and after the injections have been done, the patient can go right back to making movies.
