Thermacool

What is Thermacool?
The Thermacool is a computer controlled radio-frequency device that has the capability to tighten your skin without damaging the epidermis, or outer layer of your skin; which means that no visible wound is created. Each pulse of the Thermacool precisely heats the tissue underneath the surface of your skin, creating tightening and remodeling of collagen and tightening of excessively loose or slack skin.

Who is a candidate for Thermacool?
People of all ages and skin types have done well with Thermacool; however, these treatments seem to work best with people between the ages of 30-60 with thinner skin.

Which area(s) is Thermacool useful for?

  • Tightening skin
  • Forehead
  • Cheeks
  • Lips
  • Smile lines
  • Fine wrinkles around the eyes
  • Wrinkles on the neck
  • Acne scarring

How is the procedure done?
Before your procedure an anesthetic cream will be applied to the area that is going to be treated, in most cases the entire face.  Your doctor will run the tip of the Thermacool device across the treated area; you will experience a brief intense heating sensation as the collagen in deep layers of your skin is tightened. To protect your skin and for additional comfortable, a cooling spray is delivered before, during, and after each application of the treatment tip.

What is the recovery like?
There may be some redness and swelling in the treated areas, which usually dissipates within a couple of hours. If you have both the face and neck treated, mild swelling in these areas may last a few days. In rare cases, crusting or blistering may occur in some areas. You can resume your normal skin care routine immediately following your procedure.
When do I see the results?

Most people will see some tightening immediately following the procedure, however, collagen remodeling in the deep layers of the skin over several months after treatment causes the actual lifting and tightening. In most cases, a gradual improvement can be seen for up to a year following a single treatment.

How many sessions can I have?
A single session can provide good results in most people. However, your cosmetic surgeon will determine the number and frequency of treatments required to achieve optimal results for your skin.

When can I return to work after Thermacool?
You can return to work immediately following your procedure.

What are the advantages of Thermacool over other procedures?
Thermacool offers an alternative to a facelift without any downtime; however it does not replace a facelift.

Is Thermacool approved for use in USA?
Yes, Thermacool is FDA approved for the upper third of the face, with approval pending for the lower portion.

Is Thermacool covered by insurance companies?
Insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures and this is considered a cosmetic procedure so your insurance policy will not cover the cost.

Thermacool Cost
Thermacool cost ranges from $2000-$5000 per treatment per area.
