BOTOX® treatment for hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a relatively simple procedure which involves multiple injections to treat a number of individual sweat glands. Prior to the procedure, your specialist will numb the treatment area with a typical anesthetic to reduce or eliminate discomfort associated with the injections, which are made just below the surface of the skin. Most BOTOX® injection procedures require about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and include about 15 to 20 injections in most individuals.
BOTOX® injections treat men and women with the condition by preventing perspiration in the underarms, as well as other areas of the body.
