About Body Jet Liposuction

Before undergoing the actual Body Jet procedure, you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. Once numbed, your physician will make a small incision near the treatment area to allow for the insertion of a small tube, called a cannula. Once inserted, the cannula will be used to apply a pulsating stream of fluid within the treatment area to loosen and dislodge fatty tissue. Once loosened, the cannula will be used to suction out the fatty tissue and the fluid. Once the suction is complete, the incision will be closed and you will be allowed to return home shortly afterward. Most procedures take from 1 to 2 hours to complete.

The Body Jet system was especially designed to remove fatty tissue which has proven resistant to diet and exercise. The technique can be used in many areas of the body, including the thighs, abdomen, and upper arms.

While traditional liposuction uses repetitive motion to break apart fat cells, the Body Jet technique gently loosens fatty tissue by plying it with steady, pulsating streams of water, delivered through a special tube. As a result, the Body Jet causes less damage to surrounding tissues, nerves and blood vessels, and results in less bruising, swelling, and discomfort, both during and after the procedure.

You will notice initial results immediately following the procedure, and results will continue to improve in the weeks after your treatment, as your body conforms to the contours of the treated area.

Most men and women can expect to pay between $2000 and $6000 for an average Body Jet procedure.
