About Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are skin treatments that use various solutions to remove the damaged top layers of skin in order to enhance the look and feel of the skin.

There are three main types of chemical peels. The first involves phenol which is the strongest, this deep peel is used for coarse wrinkles, and blotchy or sun damaged skin. Second is TCA used for medium-depth peels. Last is AHA, this produces the lightest peel which is used on acne, dry skin and fine wrinkles.

Your dermatologist will choose the most effective peel for you. Chemical peels can be done in the office and require minimal recovery.
