About Fraxel Re:pair

Fraxel re:pair is an ablative skin resurfacing laser treatment that uses a fractional delivery system to improve healing and limit recovery time while revealing a radiant, more youthful appearance by treating wrinkles, lines and pigmentation issues on the skin of the neck, chest, face, hands or other areas. Most patients require only one 30-40 minute treatment session to achieve the desired results and may return to normal social activities approximately one week after treatment.

Fraxel re:pair has been approved by the FDA for use in the treatment of fine lines, textural irregularities, pigmented lesions, rhytides, vascular dyschromia and moderate to severe wrinkles and furrows. This cosmetic laser procedure is also expected to be approved for use in treatment of atrophic scars and acne scars, with clinical trials currently underway for this approval.

In general, an individual Fraxel re:pair laser treatment session will cost between $2,000 and $7,000; however the cost will vary depending on the size of the area to be treated, the number of sessions needed, the practitioner’s fees and the geographical location. Medical insurance generally will not cover any type of cosmetic procedure that is not considered medically necessary.

Contact a local cosmetic dermatologist, cosmetic surgery center or medspa to further discuss Fraxel re:pair with a professional practitioner. This will allow you to confirm the cost of Fraxel re:pair in your area, compare this treatment with other cosmetic procedures, and determine if Fraxel re:pair is the right cosmetic procedure for you.
