About Palomar Fractional Resurfacing

Prior to beginning the treatment with the Palomar fractional resurfacing laser system, you and your specialist will don protective eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser energy. During your procedure, your specialist will pass the system’s specially designed hand piece over the treatment area, directing laser energy to the deeper tissues of the skin. The specialist will also repeatedly use the system’s cooling tip to keep the skin in the treatment area comfortable and reduce discomfort. Because the tip keeps the area cooled, no anesthetic is required for most individuals. The entire procedure takes less than an hour to perform for most men and women.

The Palomar fractional resurfacing system is designed especially to treat fine lines, wrinkles, sun and age damage, discoloration, stretch marks and scarring from acne, surgery, and trauma, offering overall improved skin tone and texture and a refreshed, more youthful appearance in the treatment zone. For this reason, it is ideal for treatment of the face, neck, hands, and chest.

The Palomar laser system is a fractional laser system, achieving results by thousands of tiny holes, or micro-columns, within the greater treatment area, while leaving the areas between these columns untouched and uninjured. By treating only tiny areas, the skin’s natural healing process is encouraged, and healing time is markedly reduced.

You will experience reduced recovery time with the Palomar fractional resurfacing system, and your initial results will be evident right after treatment. Those results will continue to improve during the weeks following treatment, as new collagen forms and the texture and tone of skin is improved.

In general, the cost of your Palomar fractional resurfacing procedure will range from $600 and up for a single treatment to $2,000 and up for multiple sessions, depending upon the size of the treatment area and your location.
