About Profractional Resurfacing

Your procedure will be performed in an outpatient setting, usually requiring no more than 30 minutes to complete in most men and women. During the Profractional resurfacing procedure, the special hand piece will be moved over the treatment area, allowing the laser energy to penetrate deep within the layers of skin to destroy damaged tissue while encouraging the development of new, healthy tissue.

The Profractional resurfacing system can be used to treat a wide range of cosmetic conditions, including wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, sun spots, discoloration, scarring, and uneven skin texture or tone. The procedure also rejuvenates skin, making it appear firmer and more toned.

As the Profractional hand piece is passed over the treatment area, laser energy will be used to create hundreds of tiny holes, or columns, deep in the skin’s tissue. These tiny holes help eradicate damage and encourage the development of new, healthy tissue and collagen. The areas surrounding these tiny holes remain untreated, resulting in quicker healing time and less discomfort overall.

After treatment with the Profractional resurfacing system, you might notice some slight redness, like a mild sunburn, or light flaking as old, damaged skin is shed, revealing new, healthy skin beneath. Your initial results will be immediately apparent, and you will notice a marked improvement in your results during the weeks after your Profractional treatment as collagen continues to form beneath the surface of the skin, resulting in a fresher, more toned appearance.

The price of a Profractional laser treatment is based on both the size of the treatment area, and your location, usually ranging from $300 to $2,000.
