Are injections better for lip enhancement, or should I go with implants?

I am generally a believer in temporary fillers. Permanent fillers can have permanent complications. NO (long term) cost savings is worth the unhappiness of a permanent complication. Permanent fillers also have a less natural feel to them.
Temporary fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane, are very effective, quick to administer, results are immediate, the feel is more natural, and complication rates are extremely low. Additionally, these hyaluronic acid fillers have a reversal agent, if you are unhappy with your results. The disadvantage is the need to re-treat every 6-12 months, which, over time also leads to more expense. But, this can actually be an advantage! As the face ages and changes, what looked great today, may not look great in 5 years. Temporary fillers allow you to build the results around your current facial structure and desires.

You are better off starting with injections to determine how much volume you like before proceeding to a more permanent 'fix' such as an implant.

The main benefit of injections is that they are not permanent.? Irregularities can be corrected.? One can make then "fuller" or "less full" by adjusting the amount of product and frequency of use.? The down side is the need for repeat injections every 6 to 12 months.? For a select patient, permanent implants may be right.? One should always try injectable lip augmentation first to be certain you will like the fuller look of your lips before deciding on a permanent implant.? There are some risks with each procedure that should be discussed with your physician prior to either procedure.

Fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are better for filling the lips than an implant. Fillers are softer and more natural looking than implants.

Also, if you don't like the implant you are stuck with it. If for some reason you don't like the look or feel of a filler it will wear off.

Lip implants are falling out of favor as injection products and techniques are improving. You can modify your injections to a certain extent for a couple of weeks after the treatment and you can add more as time goes on if you so desire. An implant stays an cannot be easily modifies. As you age, the implant will appear disproportionate so be careful.

My 4 yr old daughter bit all the way thru under bottom lip. We started massage after 4 weeks and have continued for 2 months now. Inside scar tissue reduced some but one side of lip has visible lump. Will this go away? If not, what are our options?
