Can Botox be injected under the armpits for excessive sweating?

Does this work? If not are their alternatives?

Yes, it does work and it works well. Botox is FDA approved for this purpose. All of the patients who I have done love it. The only question is how long does it last? It varies from patient to patient but on average 3-9 months.

Yes, Botox works beautifully to stop excessive sweating in the armpits. Other options are to use topicals such as Drysol or Certain Dri. If these treatments do not work you can be treated by a Neurosurgeon with a surgical procedure to cut the nerve that causes sweating.

Yes, Botox is very effective for the treatment of Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating produced by the sweat glands of the axillae, palms and soles). Injection in the area will not interfere with the body's ability to cool itself by sweating. The dosage is typically 100U, split between both axillae.
None of the above is not intended as medical advice. If you have a medical concern, please consult your doctor.

Yes, we suggest for our patients to visit a neurologist before undergoing these procedures based on the condition being treated and also on the amount of Botox used (more for this area).
