Can Fraxel help with loose skin on the face.

Wondering which procedure provides the best results for loose skin on face, with very little fatty tissue underneath? The fraxel laser or IPL?

Resurfacing laser and fractional devices like the Fraxel can help tighten skin on the face, but there are other factors that may be causing your problems like fat loss. When the underlying structure of the face (bone, fat and muscle) atrophy or recide then products like Sculptra and fillers may help build those areas back up. Laser used in conjunction with Sculptra injections to replace facial volume can make a huge difference in someone with facial sagging. Please visit our website and read the article on What Causes Facial Aging? I recommend consulting with a specialist to determine what approach or combination of treatments would give you the best result.

The Fraxel Laser tightens a little. I would not do Fraxel if that is the
total reason for the procedure. It is an added bonus for rejuvenation.

Fraxel makes a glass erbium (Fraxel re:store) laser and a CO2 (Fraxel re:pair) laser. The CO2 is much more aggressive and has higher risks. You may get some skin tightening from the CO2 but you will not get much from the glass erbium laser. If you have a clinic that is telling you the glass erbium laser will cause tightening of the skin, I would like you to get up and leave that clinic and never go back. You always want to go to a clinic that will under promise and over deliver.
