We have had success treating rosacea with the Gen V setting of the Excel V laser. However, technically it is not a resurfacing tool. Rosacea does not respond well to actual resurfacing.

Resurfacing does not treat rosacea but other light based therapies can work. The most common laser used for rosacea treatment is the 595nm laser that will treat the vessels. This laser has a tendency to cause a bruised look called purpura. The purpura will go away in 1 to 2 weeks. Newer versions of this laser tend to cause significantly less purpura. Other options are IPL systems that can treat red in blood vessels. I prefer to use the BBL system as it allows me to customize the treatments to each patient more than other IPL systems. The BBL will not cause the purpura but tends to take a few more treatments
than the 595nm laser.

We do not use laser resurfacing for Rosacea patients. The pulsed dye
laser is the most effective laser for Rosacea and other vascular
conditions.
