Perlane is a perfectly safe form of hyaluronic acid to inject into the lips. It will last longer than Juvederm and any other form of hyaluronic acid-based filler. Because no lip fillers are formally approved by the FDA for lip augmentation, all injectable fillers used in the lips are 'off-label' but commonly done. Because it will feel a little stiffer than other fillers, some patients may not like it as much.

Perlane is a bit "stiff" for the lips- we usually place it in deeper tissue planes (facial folds).
The best hyaluronic acid filler products for lips areJuvederm (ultra or ultra plus) or Restylane.

No, you do not want to use Perlane in the lip. It is meant for deeper injections and it will make your lips too firm. I would tell you to use Juvederm Ultra or Restylane in your lips. I prefer the Juvederm in the lips as it softens and is more natural feeling than the
Restylane. I have never had a patient that has had Restylane in their lips and then Juvederm want to go back to the Restylane.

Yes, it is safe to inject Perlane into the lip.....it does tend to be stiff...may not be the best product to use in your lips.

Perlane may be used in the lips if an individual prefers fuller lips. Because Perlane is a more viscous product, expect to have more initial swelling as well as more fullness than Restylane. In our practice, we prefer to use Juvederm or Restylane for the mouth area which provides
nice, natural augmentation and will be priced a bit less expensive than Perlane. Be certain to discuss this with the one performing the treatment so that your goals will be in alignment with the treatment plan.
