Does genesis skin rejuvenation work for melasma?

my mom has melasma and cant find a way get rid of it. Are there any creams available that work as well? thank you

I have the laser which does "laser genesis". I have never offered it to a patient for the treatment of melasma. I think that there are much better options for the treatment of melasma. You need to be very careful when treating melasma as lasers can actually make it worse. I feel that all patients with melasma should be on some form of prescription skin lightener such as 4% hydroquinone before they have any treatments with any laser.

People with melasma should be on topical agents containing 4% hydroquinone, not only to lighten the pigment that is there but to help reduce new pigment formation. At Renew MediSpa we have used 1540 Laser skin resurfacing with excellent results in clients with melasma. Non laser procedures such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion only lighten the appearance temporarily.
