Radiesse only requires 1 treatment. Only on occasion do you need to adjust a certain area. The amount of swelling is usually minimal so adjustments are seldom.

Facial sculpting with any filler is a process, not a single treatment in most cases. After swelling due to application of anesthesia and additional swelling due to the injection of filler itself, the natural anatomy is
partially obliterated. After a period of about two weeks, the swelling is gone and the product has settled enough for the physician to see what final results are. This gives the body time for water in the product to be reabsorbed. Often this is the time to even out the look, add more product, inject another site or add botox or dysport.

Radiesse is generally injected in one session. You may require more than one session if you decide you want more volume. Only occasionally is a "touch up" needed to even out the volume results. This is decided only after, as you mention, the swelling resolves.

With any dermal filler, there is always a chance that further correction may be necessary; in that regard, Radiesse is no different. Due to the slow metabolism of Radiesse (it will last one to two years) it is somewhat slower to "soften"; that is, it can take six to eight weeks before it is soft, smooth, and flexible
in the tissues. The benefit is the beautiful long lasting results.
