Dysport and Reloxin are the same product by the same manufacturer. Dysport is the name that is widely used in many other countries. When trying to get FDA approval in the United States, the manufacturer was hoping to use a different marketing name (Reloxin) but the FDA would not let them choose this better sounding and more appealing product moniker. While Dysport is somewhat different at the molecular level than Botox, there does not yet appear to be any great practical differences from how they work and what effects patients see. The one thing that is clear, at least for now, is that the hope that a longer acting and cheaper wrinkle treatment than Botox is not going to be Dysport.

Dysport and Reloxin are the same product. In fact, these products are very similar to Botox. While we have used Dysport and Botox, we are not completely convinced (yet) that the longevity of the products and the amount required for treatment are the same in all instances. But from the perspective of the consumer, there really is no major difference between Botox and Dysport. They are both neurotoxins with very similar chemical makeups and they are designed to treat the same issue, fine lines and wrinkles. In considering which one to use, Botox or Dysport, consult your practitioner and consider which one is more affordable for you as we believe results will be similar.
