How many treatments do I need with photodynamic therapy in order to get visible results?

The number of photodynamic treatments varies with each individual. Here at our facility we start patients with packages of 3-4 treatments informing them that there is a possibility they may need more. We also offer complimentary consultation since it is necessary to examine a patient to be able to provide accurate treatment plans and prices; I would recommend finding a facility in your area that offers the treatment and make a consultation appointment.

Photodynamic therapy can be used for many things ranging from treating AKs (pre-skin cancers), BCCs (Basal cell carcinoma skin cancer), acne and photorejuvenation. Most times one treatment is all that is needed.

This question is going to depend on the patient. Normally our acne patients require between 2-4 treatments. In some cases, the results are visible after 1-2 treatments and in other cases, it's a slower progression. The bottom line is that it is very difficult to predict,
but if you do not see a significant reduction in the amount of acne after 3 treatments, then you may want to reconsider the treatment plan.
