How to get rid of stubborn solar lentigos?

IPL not strong enough for pigmented lesions on my legs. I've heard YAG laser works better. What's your advice? I've already had several regular IPLs that haven't worked. Thanks.

I think that using the Yag laser for lightly pigmented lesions are a
good indication. You will need several treatments to get an optimal
response.

We've written extensively about the differences
between q-switched lasers and IPL. The clearest example we can give
indicating the disparity between the capabilities of these two devices
is that a q-switched Nd:Yg laser is what is used for removing tattoos
and cafe-au-lait birthmarks. An IPL cannot touch either one of these
conditions because it does not have the power or design.

To illustrate, the energy pulses in a q-switched Nd:Yg laser are
measured in billionths of a second. This very short duration means that
large bursts of energy are used in very short periods of time, making
the pulses of energy very, very powerful. Contrast the IPL, which uses
bursts of light measured in thousandths of seconds and you can see that
for the same amount of energy, concentrating it into a very short pulse
will make it much more powerful and effective.

What is blanched by IPL is permanently removed by q-switched lasers.
It's the difference between a formula 1 race car and a Ford Mustang.
Finally, IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It is not a laser and as
such, and by design, does not have the capabilities of a laser. Choose
a practitioner based on their experience and the quality of the tools
they use, and you will be much happier with your results.

Have you looked into the new Fraxel Dual. It has a 1920nm wavelength that is
extremely effective. We have seen one treatment with the
Fraxel Dual do the work of four or five standard IPL treatments.
