Chemical peels can be done on anyone that would benefit from them. However, nothing will replace a good skin care regime. You should be on a product that has either a vitamin C or something like glycolic acid in it to help exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. A good sunscreen over 30 SPF should be used religiously every day to help prevent sun damaging UVA/UVB rays. What you do at home two times a day is more important then a one or two time treatment at a laser clinic. If a chemical peel is necessary your skin care provider should be able to recommend one that would help accelerate your home care.

You will be okay to start light chemical peels at your age. Remember though, that you need to take care of your skin at home as well as with your skin care professional. You will need to use a good sunblock that protects against UVA and UVB rays on a daily basis. 80 to 90% of the skins aging process is exposure to the sun and tanning beds. I would also recommend that you use some form of exfoliation such as glycolic acid containing products. Your skin care professional will be able to help you choose what is right for you and your skin.

Chemical peels are the basis for good skin care and can be used starting at age twenty. For acne patients, they are can safely be used at any age. Some people are not good candidates for chemical peels including those with Rosacea, thin skin, red sensitive skin, and a host of other conditions. All patients receiving peels should be evaluated by a trained professional prior to starting a peel regimen.

You are certainly old enough for a chemical peel. I do peels on many teenagers to address acne. A wonderful anti-aging peel is the VI Peel. You should, however, look into an excellent anti-aging home skincare routine to complement any treatment that you receive in a physician's office. Also, microdermabrasion is an excellent method of treatment for you. Look into treatment with a diamond tip system, as it is non-irritation (older crystal systems can sometimes be irritating).

It varies from oerson to person - that being said, if you have wrinkles peels are appropriate regardless of your age. Alternatively, skin care products may be all that you need .

I started doing preventative treatments at the age of 21. I have had VI peels, fractional laser treatments, botox and other procedures to help the tone, texture and overall appearance of my face. The sooner you start the better and the more cost effective it is. Once you have developed creases it is slightly more difficult to achieve a younger appearance. You can start with monthly Vibradermabrasion treatments, chemical peels and IPL photo facials. We offer complimentary consultations if you would like to come in and speak with our medical team.

We actually use light chemical peels on teenagers for acne. If you are starting to show some wrinkling in you mid twenties it would be fine to start some light peels. Please remember to go to a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon's office for these treatments.

There is no minimum age to begin chemical peels. In fact, chemical peels are used to lightly resurface the skin. This process increases the rate at which we produce new skin and thereby helps to keep skin refreshed. Regards,
