Both Dysport and Botox relax the muscles and prevent facial wrinkles. Botox has been used for many years. It is tried and true with very few side effects. Dysport is very new and time will tell. Each doctor will have their own preference for the one they chose to utilize
in their patients.

Dysport and Botox are very similar products. They are both botulinum toxin type A and are able to relax facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles. We have found small differences that favor Dysport, but ultimately will not have enough information to make a clear differential
until down the road. We have seen a quicker onset of the product (typically within 24 hours) and a better results (with less units used) in the forehead area. In addition, we have been alerted by some practitioners that they are seeing a longer duration for Dysport - but this will also depend on the number of units used (we currently convert
from Botox to Dysport at a rate of 1:3 but talk to your practitioner about this). For some patients, Dysport has not worked well and their results have led them back to Botox. So, ultimately, it may not be a case of one product being better than the other, but rather which product works best for you.
