FotoFacial (IPL) was designed and is matchless for fading Rosacea. You cannot remove it with resurfacing though it would be helpful to smooth the skin after the FotoFacial treatment is completed. It usually involves a series of anywhere from 3-5 treatments 3 -4 weeks apart.

Resurfacing won't help much at all. We get great results combining Cuter'a Laser Genesis with IPL for redness.

For Acne Rosacea, you should only use the IPL. It specifically targets the redness by attacking the red blood cells which cause the redness. With the IPL you will get some skin rejuvenation of the skin. Because of the added redness, the IPL will give you more skin rejuvenation than the average person. However, if you have deep lines then the skin laser resurfacing treatment might be needed because it is stronger.

The best treatment for your Rosacea would be oral medication, topical medication and/or Photofacial ( IPL) treatments.

The most effective laser or light source for Rosacea is the Pulsed-Dye Laser (V-Beam). While IPL can be helpful with the redness, blush, veins and bumps of Rosacea, The V-Beam is much more specific and effective with a lower risk of side-efffects than an IPL. In general, think of Lasers as a sniper's rifle, finely attuned to treat certain conditions, while IPL is more of a shotgun, attempting to hit everything in its path, but a master of none.
Laser Resurfacing is a complete different animal. There are many types of lasers used in resurfacing, but in general, they are used for scars, wrinkle, texture and tightening issues. Temporary redness is normal with resurfacing, is not unusual to last a number of months, and can rarely be persistant. They should not be thought of as treatments for Rosacea.

Neither one of these treatments is the best available for Rosacea. The best laser for Rosacea is called a pulsed dye laser and there are two leading brands, the Cynosure V-Star and the Candela V-Beam. The 585 nm wavelength for these lasers is far superior to IPL or laser resurfacing for the treatment of this vascular condition.

Yes, this would be a good indication for this treatment. Certain antibiotics may need to be discontinued first.
