The two lasers mentioned are different. The type of laser is determined
by the type of light used to treat the skin and in this case the light
used is different for these two lasers. Each type of laser light has a
different chromophore (target) meaning that the light is absorbed in
different areas of the skin tissue depending on what type of laser is
used. That's why there are certain types of lasers that work best for
each skin condition. The wavelength of a Smoothbeam laser is 1450
nanometers (1450 billionths of a meter) and the wavelength of a Genesis
is 1064 nanometers. Which of these lasers is most appropriate for you
depends in large part on what type of condition you are looking to have
treated.
