The best lasers that are used for hair removal, acne or acne scarring are all different wavelengths and generally would not be interchangeable for these different conditions. The best hair removal lasers mostly incorporate one of 3 wavelengths 755nm, 810nm, or 1064nm, and are generally not considered good modalities for acne or acne scarring. Also note, that laser or light treatment of either acne or acne scarring similarly requires different laser types from the other.
The advantages of lasers are their "sniper" like ability to treat a few conditions very well. To treat a variety of conditions well, you may need a wide variety of lasers. I would be cautious of anyone, a manufacturer or practitioner, who tries to sell a "one size fits all".

I am not aware of a hair removal laser that treats acne and scarring at the same time. They may be talking about IPL (Intensed Pulse Light), but you use a different hand piece and power to remove the hair. Usually Lasers do one specific thing at a time because their targets are different. Do your research before you commit.

Laser hair removal is designed to reduce hair through killing hair follicles. However, any method that delivers heat especially deep, penetrating heat will also improve acne. For the same reason, people have been known to sunbathe in the summer to the point of a 1st degree burn to improve acne. This practice is, nevertheless, strongly discouraged because
the risk outweighs the benefit.

The lasers used for laser hair removal are different than those used for lace acne treatment and we have not found the lasers associated with hair removal to be beneficial for acne treatments (and we do a lot of both). If you decide to get laser hair removal, we would not expect to get any help with your acne and scars from those lasers. Good luck.

The laser used for laser hair removal and acne are quite different. The laser acne treatment may help with discoloration caused by acne though it won't help with pitted acne scars. For acne scars you will need some type of laser resurfacing such as Fraxel, Sciton, CO2 resurfacing. The laser hair removal machine only treats hair and does not work with scars or rejuvenation.
