Is there something you can use for the redness, itching, swelling and peeling after Perlane?

I had Perlane done in May and have had constant problems on one side of my lips. At first I was told it was cold sores. I have taken 3 doses of medicine for it. The doctor keeps telling me its not a reaction to the Perlane. What is your advice?

You did not mention where the Perlane was injected. It would be helpful to know if it was injected in the lips, lip border, skin beside the lip (oral commissures) or smile lines. Allergic reactions do not usually occur with
Perlane because the active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which is already in our skin structures. Cold sores usually cause more pain and blister formation than itching. You could try a topical antibiotic like bacitracin
or triple antibiotic. Also, sometimes vitamin deficiencies can cause cracking of the lips. Investigate other cosmetics you are using on your face that could potentially be causing the problem.
