Sensitive skin and severe acne problem, help!

I have very sensitive skin which reacts to an awful lot of products and lately I have had quite bad acne and inflammation on my face. I have tried products with salicylic acid, which just makes my face sore. What could I use to help control my acne?

Since you have sensitive skin you really should see a Dermatologist. We have
a lot of gentle prescription items that are topical antibiotics you can use
for your acne. We can also use oral antibiotics to treat your acne. Your
selection of over the counter treatments is very limiting. Usually it only
takes a couple of visits to the Dermatologist to get your acne under
control.

Over the counter products such as Proactiv are a good starting point.
Retin A and Glycolic acid based OTC products should also be tried.

If over the counter products are not working, you can try medications
from your dermatologist. These include prescription strength Retin A
products, antibiotics or even Accutane (in severe cases).

If medications are not working for you, then you may consider later
treatments and/or photodynamic therapy.

I don’t have cystic acne. In fact, my face is clear right now, except for a bit of texture. But I am Hispanic and I suffered from bad moments of acne in the past year. There are a lot of dark spots left over and they are not going away. I want to try Accutane to prevent any future pimples. I’ve also seen people have such flawless skin while on Accutane and wonder if I could get on it just to help my severe hyperpigmentation. Thank you.
