I like to inject Juvederm Ultra into the area under the eyes. This area should not be overfilled as it will look puffy . Small quantities of this filler give a rested, natural look.

I have used Radiesse, Evolence and restylane under the eyes for different reasons with excellent results.

There are a number of dermal fillers to be used under the eyes. Often, using fillers in the cheek will improve the area under the eye substantially. Radiesse is a filler that I like for this area. It is robust and lasts a long time but is pliable enough for smooth, natural results. For the eye trough area, a fine filler like Juvederm can be used in selected cases. A physician consultation and injector is recommended for this sensitive area.

Juvederm and Restylane have successfully been injected under the eyes. Great care must be taken and the injector needs to be very experienced.

There are more risks involved by injecting this area under the eyes. It can be lumpy or possibly have a blue hue to it.

If you decide to do this, please do your homework and go to someone very experienced. You should preferably see a Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon or Cosmetic Ophthalmologist.

Dermal fillers are certainly the answer for the tear trough area and mallar pads (cheeks). We offer free consultations...let us take a look to see which filler would be appropriate for the depth of your particular lines.

Most of the HA fillers like Restylane and Juvederm are very good under the
eyes. Bruising and swelling are the most common complication which resolve
in a few days.

We currently use hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm in this area with good results lasting approximately 9 months.

Any dermal filler can be used to fill in the tear-trough area under the eye; it just cannot fill in inside of the orbit, or eye socket. I have used Radiesse, Juvaderm, and Evolence for this with great success.

I feel the best choice are the hyaluronic acids are the best choice. I prefer Restylane in this area as Juvederm sometimes draws to much water to the area and can cause puffiness in about 10% of cases. I prefer Juvederm for most other areas.

Short of other surgical options, off-the-shelf injectable fillers are your only option. Because of the very thin skin of the eyelid around the tear trough and orbital rim area, only those fillers based on hyaluronic acid should be used. They have a smooth injection flow and are the most likely to not result in lumps or irregularities. Of the hyaluronic acid-based fillers, Restylane or Juvaderm are good choices. Those that have higher concentrations, such as Perlane or Hydrelle, are stiffer and probably not best suited to such a thin skinned area. Beware that there are many blood vessels in this area and the risk of bruising with injection is highest here compared to anywhere else on the face.
