The brown spots usually get darker after initial treatment then flake off after a time or with subsequent treatments.

These will flake off within about seven to ten days. They will be lighter than before the treatment after this occurs.

If they are not too deep, the brown spots will slough off with in 5-7 days.

This is an appropriate response to treatment. Everything that is darker should lift/lighten. It is important not to try to scrub it off prematurely or you will create red spots that will take a long time to heal. Be patient.

Brown spots normally get darker after light based treatments (IPL or
laser treatment). The cells that contain the pigment are destroyed and
rise to the surface as our skin reproduces. They then slough off (very
light flaking like wax paper) as you noted in a period of about 1-3
weeks.

Generally with FototFacial, your dark spots will immediately get darker..microcrust...then flake off. It also brings other damage to the surface..then you repeat until they are gone.

This is exactly what a FF is supposed to do. The brown spots are pigment
that is rising to the surface and will flake off. I am a bit surprised that
you were not provided with that information by your practitioner.

The dark spots are normal and that's the reaction you should expect from a
properly performed Fotofacial. The dark spots will begin to slough off over
the next few days. You can assist them along after 72 hours or so with
gentle exfoliation.

This is exactly the reaction you are hoping for with the IPL. The
light energy from the IPL is absorbed more by the pigmentation than
the surrounding skin. The pigmentation will then darken up and slough
off. This can last for 1 to 2 weeks. It is usually faster on facial
skin than on other areas of the body.

The brown spots after Photofacial (if you get them) will come off shortly or after the next few treatments.

Not everyone gets these spots.
